I moved to Kingston two years ago and in that time I have found that all but one mechanic I had gone to gave only adequate or sub-par service, and it kinda felt like "patchwork" repair, even the so called reputable ones. A good friend recommended JAS and described how they take time (use pictures and video) to explain what they find with my vehicle. I have seen this done twice before - in Ottawa and Alberta - and with today's technology making it easy to do so, I find doing this goes a long way to building trust, to understanding what the mechanic is seeing, and to feel treated with respect. I feel like I'm now a customer for life. Since my last JAS service, driving feels like I can have confidence that the work won't fall apart. I am not a mechanic, and so have to trust what they tell me, but between their explanations and the feel of how my car runs after leaving the lot, I feel confident in their work, and I feel a bit like I have my old Outback in its younger days back. Sounds weird, but it's true. I'm almost looking forward to having them go over my old 1985 classic car to see what they find. Thanks to everyone there for running a great business and what feels like real integrity.

I've never really left a review, but will absolutely take the time to recommend John's Auto. Friday evening my partner and I found out truck couldn't shift into drive, we called John's and they thankfully took it in and we were able to get it looked at come Monday. I absolutely feared the worst, thinking the transmission or something big, scary, and expensive had went on the truck. Of all things involved, a walnut was causing the shifter to get blocked. Derek, who I was in constant contact with, waved the inspection fee for the repair, and gave us some recommendations of things the tech had found. The customer service from Derek, as well as the transparency from him and the company was a breath of fresh air. They have a customer in me for life.

I basically brought these guys a bucket of bolts at the beginning of summer and they literally performed a miracle by rebuilding my transmission, installing a new clutch, replacing the high pressure fuel pump, fixing an oil pan leak, replacing the windshield and swapping out my tires. There service here was outstanding. I had a loose heat shield hanging off the bottom of my car. I managed to get an appointment the next day. The garage kept me up to date via email and text with how the work proceeded. They also updated me on other issues my car had and sent invoices to show how much completing this services would be.
